Gummy Bears..

Posted by LOKShadow On Monday, August 23, 2010 1 comments

What happens when you leave gummy bears in your car in hot Albuquerque weather? This.
Massive gummy blob..
But not all hope is lost! Looks like one of them survived the meltdown.
Perfectly preserved and still smiling!
Time to dice it up~
Gummy cubes anyone?
Even excavated our brave lil' fella'.
This would make a cool pendant~
Bon appetit?
Very colorful and still quite tasty!
New product line?

This is sad...

"My hunch is that B&N never really embraced the Internet or e-books, tied as it was to the old-fashioned world of physical books and stores. As B&N focused on managing decline, a much more nimble Amazon could concentrate exclusively on the new world it was forming. B&N needed to destroy its business model to prevail. Now it is probably too late. There is a lesson for all businesses here."
How Barnes & Noble fell so far so fast

I never liked Barnes & Noble, not because it sold actual books, but because its prices were always higher than Amazon or Borders.  But there is nothing old-fashioned about real books.  Nothing beats the feeling of holding a book in your hand and flipping through the pages, getting into the story.  The structure of e-books today are built after the images of real books after all.  When I read today that books are so called "old-fashioned" I really felt my 22 years of age, down to the very last page.

My fellow egg eaters...

An Iowa egg producer is recalling 228 million eggs after being linked to an outbreak of salmonella poisoning.

The eggs were distributed around the country and packaged under the names Lucerne, Albertson, Mountain Dairy, Ralph's, Boomsma's, Sunshine, Hillandale, Trafficanda, Farm Fresh, Shoreland, Lund, Dutch Farms and Kemp.

We shall all have to put aside our cravings for a while.

Funny Story and Panorama Week: Day 5!

Posted by Monkey On Thursday, August 5, 2010 2 comments

So today, after a long very tiring run outside, I came back into the gym to cool off, stretch, do some sit-ups, you know...the good stuff.  Usually when I go there's some people running on the treadmill which is usually opposite the area where I do sit-ups and so I am able to watch what's going on behind me while facing the other direction as that's what mirrors usually allow you to do.  While I was in the middle of doing some sit-ups and I'm like "Wow, this is really tiring."  I do something like what's going on at around 1:05 in the following video:

Just cause I'm tired.  In the corner of my eye, I see this girl on the elliptical give me such a strange look and yet her look said it all.  It was a 5% amusement and 45% horrid fascination 50% completely disgusted look.  I nearly laughed at her.  So now, I will watch my facial expressions when I am completely exhausted, so other people can look at me normally.
P.S. This video is a practice of the original movie I was going to do.  If I feel nice, I might publish the script later.

First Day Home in Seattle!

Posted by Monkey On Sunday, July 18, 2010 1 comments

Woke up at 4:00 AM.
Took Super Shuttle to airport and flew to Seattle.  Arrived at 11:00 AM (Texas Time).  Finished two of the three books I brought home to read before I touched down.  (WTF, should have brought more.)
Went home and ate and immediately went to sleep.
Woke up ate dinner, remember just how good of a cook my mom is.
Went to Sports Authority and tried to play Wii Fit only to realize how much of a food I must look like to everyone else.
Went out running with my sister whole almost step on this 3 inch long black slug and who after running halfway home, complained that her heart hurt and she felt like she was going to have a heart attack in 8 seconds.
Realized how beautiful the scenery is around my house.  Note to self: must remember to take camera on next run.

Potential group projects before summer ends!

Solitude and Leadership

Posted by trendguardian On Thursday, July 1, 2010 0 comments

Another of those inspirational essays.

Surprisingly from the Army this time.

'No, what makes him a thinker—and a leader—is precisely that he is able to think things through for himself. And because he can, he has the confidence, the courage, to argue for his ideas even when they aren’t popular. Even when they don’t please his superiors. Courage: there is physical courage, which you all possess in abundance, and then there is another kind of courage, moral courage, the courage to stand up for what you believe.'

Enjoy.

Messi- The Best Soccer Player in the World

Posted by trendguardian On Saturday, June 26, 2010 0 comments

For you guys who are soccer(football) fans and whom are not (a little bit of Argentine history)

Leonel Messi is currently considered the best soccer player in the world. Here is the best goal of the season in 2007.

This very same goal has been compared to Diego Maradona's historic goals of Argentina vs England in the World Cup of 1986 (we hate the English too because they took our Falklands).

The first goal was called 'The Hand of God Goal' because Maradona used his hand to jump over the English goal keeper who was several feets higher than him. The arbiter did not catch it and it was considered a head bump instead. Later when the press interviewed Maradona for his cheating, he said 'What can I say, it was the Hand of God' and got away with it.

The second goal was considered 'The Goal of the Century', where Maradona passed 6 English players. This very same goal is compared to Messi's goal seen earlier as you can see in this video.

(The speaker is funny)

THUS, THE LEGEND IS REBORN

Maradona is now the Argentinian team coach in this World Cup 2010, and Messi is on our team!
and tomorrow we play against Mexico!!!

Want to join me in this Epic Adventure? Tomorrow at 1:30 pm ESPN3.com

XD I will be making fun of all my Mexican friends here watching it..jaja

Smack those... First Impressions

Posted by C. "V" Hu On 5 comments

Aha! The video is finally ready... sort of.

The original clips were shoot the night after graduation, like 5am in the morning... so most of videos were kinda random and the conversation was very dispersed, so I simply 'jigsawed' the parts I found interesting and relevant.

I believe everything was edited in HD (it took me a heck amount of time, but shall be worthwhile.) If you are watching it now and find it in low quality, check again tomorrow and allegedly youtube will have HD version ready!

Sorry for the delay... for various reasons and technical difficulties. The voice quality is very poor due to the limited range of the camera mic, and since we didn't have a tripod, the clips are mostly shaky or otherwise blurry (to smooth and stabilize, I had to zoom in to catch these common areas...) Anyways, I had a lot of fun watching and editing this video, and I hope you'll enjoy it as well =D
